Creative Implosion + Free Stance Training

Thank you for being here.

This newsletter is best enjoyed with a few deep breaths, and a nice cup of something.

Part 1 of 3: Movement

Stance Practices (free mini training)

For the next six weeks, we're going to be focusing on standing.

This means the video is going to be the same each week, because I actually want you to see progress - I'm trusting that you don't just want a variety of rapid-fire dopamine hits... right?

This practice will help you "get out of your own way", by increasing your tolerance to discomfort while reducing your inner conflict. You will gain permanently gain awareness of your body's workings at a level of detail you've never previously had, and you'll be working through mental and emotional challenges too.

Results I often see:

  • Reduce Pain + Chronic Tightness

  • Feel Clear + Energised

  • Go from 240p to ultra HD 4k body awareness

Keys to a successful approach:

Insist on staying in the position and refining your alignment while also surrendering any fixation and desire to escape the stress.

This is what creates the inner transformation...
Being fully aware of what is happening, without the intention to change it.

This is the beauty of this practice. It tests how committed you are to being with your experience. It's one of the safest physical practices you could do, meaning you can push deeper into discomfort and find the gems there.

This is a 32 minute lesson, but it is sequential, so if you watch the first 2-3 minutes, you will still gain a lot.

Included is a basic standing practice, plus 6 more complex stances to move through in order to practice applying the basic principles in different shapes.

Part 2 of 3: Insight

Claiming your creative powers using implosion.

In a way, you're like a black hole.

Infinite possibilities squish themselves into your singular human perspective to experience embodied presence and to have an experience in time.

Which is why, on a long enough time line you could have it all... but if you're a human, you just can't have it all at once.

"Watch your thoughts, they become your words;
watch your words, they become your actions;
watch your actions, they become your habits;
watch your habits, they become your character;
watch your character, it becomes your destiny."

— Lao Tzu

When you know this, you can use thought, emotion and action to collapse events into your timeline... but only if you have the mental skill and interest to do so. This is nothing new or particularly whacky; it's already happening on a level you may or may not be conscious of.

An introduction to the practice of collapsing events into your reality.

As potentialities float around, they compress themselves into the density of material reality by falling through the centre of the Torus (donut universe).

Things start out as etherial, zippy little thoughts... and it's through a state of elevated emotion or high energy in the body, that those thought seeds germinate (sometimes unconsciously) over time to shape your reality.

It could take 50 years.

Or it could take 5 days.

It depends on the clarity of the thought, the amplitude of the emotion and the energy (baseline function) of the body.

SO HOW DO YOU DO IT?

  1. Loading the Bow
    cultivate your focus and attention using a concentration-based meditative practice, so your head isn't a clusterf*ck

  2. Drawing the String
    learn to recognise and invoke the emotional state of having already received the thing you want (e.g. notice what you already have, while also visualising the thing you're seeking to collapse into reality

  3. Releasing the Arrow
    learn to release excessive tension from the body (which means also surrendering the mental intention) - one the mind has created a clear vision, and the emotion has been matched, the body needs to be free of intention... which is why we use standing practices.

Extra Stuff for the Nerds

I want to drop a couple of my favourite pictures below, of the Torus (metaphysical donut) below. Fig 1.

The beauty of the toroidal model as a framework to understand ideas is that it allows paradoxes to exist within one cohesive framework. The first time I saw a torus was in a meditation... as a spontaneous "download" with a strong sense of importance attached to it.

I immediately googled "donut universe" and found a bunch of cool shit that I didn't understand, but could grasp enough of to be intrigued... and over the years, having this donut model in my mind has enabled me to gradually internalise and explore what exactly it is, and what it means, more clearly. I still don't know, but I know more than I did.

Certain traditions use particular mandalas and shapes as meditative tools, to allow the mind to shape itself in certain forms... because if you have the mind-skill to hold a particular vision or image in focus, then you can gradually collapse the spacetime between yourself and that thing.

Now we enter the realm of magic, and the debate as to what exactly that is. Once upon a time before the sciences were a thing, there was magic and natural philosophy. These things split from one discipline. In our attempts to understand and harness natural phenomena, modern science split itself from the subjective, and mysticism focused more heavily on the subjective.

Personally, I love Arthur C Clarke's quote: "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

Some people explore external tools. Technology to change experience, starting with the outer.
Other people explore internal tools. Technology to change the experience, starting with the inner.

Both paths are infinite, and each of them is nested within the other in ways that I feel we don't acknowledge often enough.

Part 3 of 3: Game

I have a significant mystery gift for someone who completes this challenge:

  1. Practice the standing sequence I've shared with you every day for the next 7 days - for at least 30 mins.

  2. Record the whole session on video, each day (as proof).

  3. Make a brief journal entry of what you noticed during, and how you felt afterwards.

  4. If you complete all 7 days, you're in the draw to win a free spot in BASELINE my 9 week coaching program.

Are you in? If so, reply to this e-mail and let me know!

Remember, if you practice, you can't possibly lose. Even if you don't "win" this challenge.

Of course, it would be good for business if you shared some clips and tagged me on instagram, but I honestly care more about you experiencing the substance of the practice, and sometimes it's nice to keep things juicy and private.

I'm really looking forward to seeing who implements this.

Remember, the less people who take this up, the more likely you are to win...

Much love,

Jack
