Meditative Spinal Work + Escaping Exhaustion

Movement of the week: Tactile Spinal Articulation

Watch time: 1 minute

About: This is a very revealing and communicative movement which will help you discover the blind-segments where you're unable to sense and move your spine.

Why do it: To experience the journey from "what the fuck am I trying to do" to "oh, this feels really good and I can move so gracefully now". Additionally, the tactile contact of the wall is a great focal point to still the mind.

Goal: Roll your spine around on the wall to paint shapes, such as ∞, ∆ or even spell your name. Explore reaching with the arms and relax your body as much as you can.

Disclaimer: Some of you bootylicious people may not be able to connect your lower back with the wall, but I still want you to try! Pelvic tilt control here we come.

Insight of the week: Clear is kind.

It's totally unfair to have high expectations of yourself without having...

...total clarity on what those expectations are.

"But I can do better than this" is NOT clear enough.

You need to set an easily recognisable standard for yourself, so that you can support yourself and get there in one piece.

Otherwise, you won't know when you're done, or whether you've done enough.

And over time, this will physically exhaust you.

Maybe you haven't felt that yet if you're deep in the cortisol addiction.

A lot of us carry this wound which we picked up as kids.

We think chronic stress and high arousal is safe, but it's just familiar chaos.

So no matter how many times we affirm "I am enough", our deepest self - our body - doesn't buy it.

Affirmations do the reverse of what they're meant to, when your unconscious/body isn't invited for the ride.

You get this massive recoil back to contraction and fear every time you expand or reach a new height.

Because although you think "I'm enough", you haven't been aren't clear on exactly how this enough person relates, feels and behaves... in other words, you haven't been aimed at an EMBODIED sense of enough-ness.

And in this unclear fog of pressure, your body still has to keep up with your shifting, impossible standards.

Body is like "You're asking me to support you, but you never support me".

And guess what?

It's only by seeing and healing this in yourself that you can treat other people with the same fairness.

If other people never seem to live up to your expectations, it's probably because you suck at defining them.

I get it. No judgement.

Everything I talk about is something I have been trapped in at some point, or am still working with. ❤️

What I’ve been doing: Creating like a madman and trying not to become a cortisol junkie

  1. Creativity - breaking old patterns and seeing how free, artistic and nonsensically fun I can make my daily doings. Simple stuff. Hugging the dog. Having a boogie.

  2. Streamlining - structuring the way I teach, so people can learn faster and own their transformation. This helps people internalise and embody what they learn, to become their own teachers and eventually leaders.

  3. Online business - learning to automate stuff, and create more sustainable, less stressful processes to give me more time and resources to do the above. Business and embodiment aren't opposites. Financial struggle is one of the highest correlates with poor health and it makes it harder to create meaningful change and support others.
